The Big Ten Network and ESPNEWS will air coverage of the opening session of the 2010 Big Ten Football Media Days on Monday, Aug. 2. The media days and luncheon will take place at the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place and McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago.

IU Athletics to Enhance Football Game-Day Experience with High-Tech Scoreboard
Indiana University Vice President and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Fred Glass announced today that a new state-of-the-art scoreboard is being installed at the South end of Memorial Stadium for the 2010 football season. IU's new scoreboard will provide the most cutting-edge video technology of any scoreboard in the country and will be among the nation's 10 largest college scoreboards.

Chappell Nominated for Allstate AFCA Good Works TeamŽ
Indiana senior quarterback Ben Chappell is a nominee for the 2010 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team®. Chappell is IU's third straight nominee, following Austin Starr in 2008 and Jammie Kirlew in 2009. Kirlew was named to the prestigious 11-player team last season.

Big Ten Conference Announces Distinguished Scholars for 2009-10
Following the conclusion of the 2009-10 academic year, the Big Ten Conference announced that 484 student-athletes have been selected as recipients of the Big Ten Distinguished Scholar Award. The list features student-athletes from every institution and 32 different sports who have earned a minimum grade-point average (GPA) of 3.7 or higher for the previous academic year. Indiana had 42 student athletes named Distinguished Scholars.

IU-Western Kentucky Game Time Announced
The Indiana football team will travel to Bowling Green, Ky., to face Western Kentucky at 4 p.m. CT (5 p.m. ET) on Saturday, Sept. 18. The game will be televised on the Big Ten Network.

IU Athletics Announces Year End Award Winners
The Indiana Department of Athletics has announced that senior track athlete Molly Beckwith and senior swimmer Kateryna Fesenko have been named 2010 co-Indiana Female Athletes of the Year and that sophomore baseball player Alex Dickerson and sophomore field athlete Derek Drouin have been named 2010 co-Indiana Male Athletes of the Year. Football player Jammie Kirlew, rower Emily Kasavana and water polo player Kelsey Campbell also brought home awards for the 2009-10 athletic seasons.

Kirlew, Sherrill Named Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholars
Former Hoosier defensive end Jammie Kirlew and junior track and field athlete Faith Sherrill have been named Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholars. Established in 1992 by the publication Diverse: Issues In Higher Education, the Sports Scholars Awards honor undergraduate students of color who exemplify the standards set by tennis great Arthur Ashe Jr.

Kirlew Signs with Denver Broncos
Former Hoosier Jammie Kirlew signed with the Denver Broncos. The Broncos selected Kirlew in the seventh round of the 2010 NFL Draft.

Schnell to Enter Indiana Football Hall of Fame
Former Hoosier quarterback Dave Schnell (1986-89) will enter the Indiana Football Hall of Fame on Friday evening. The induction ceremony and banquet will be held at St. Hedwig Memorial Center in South Bend, Ind. Permanent enshrinement will be at the Indiana Football Hall of Fame in Richmond, Ind.
